A CALL TO ACTION
A partnership between the YMCA, the National Park Service, and conservation partners is a natural way to get kids outside. The YMCA engages 9 million children, teens and young adults each year in the United States. By working with conservation and outdoors partners to connect those children, teens and young adults and their families to national parks and other outdoor spaces, the YMCA can help change the dynamic between youth and the outdoors for generations to come.

Three ways you can get children, teens and young adults engaged with the outdoors:

  • Locate your nearest local, state or national park and organize a trip for the children in your life to visit.

  • Start a youth outdoors engagement program of your own.

  • Use an of the curriculum or activities provided to engage the children in your life in outdoor exploration, learning and service projects.
